Academy Founder
My role as Head Trainer is to ensure this course is all about you. My goal was to create a course for dog lovers whose ambition was to never leave their dog! At SCDGA we have a impressive proven track record of ensuring every student’s dream become a reality.
My background is in business, completing my A-levels and going onto study at Bournemouth University. Then my love for my King Charles Cavaliers took me down the muddy path of dog grooming! I completed my training at Kingston Maurward Agricultural College and fulfilled my ambition of opening my very own salon. With the salon at full strength, I decided to start offering in house training and completed my L3 Education & Training Certificates. Now with my salon sold, I worked my way to opening the academy. I feel so lucky to be passing on my passion to others who want to enter this rewarding world of dog grooming!

HANNAH BUCKTHORPE
Support Trainer
I’m a Trainer here at SCDGA and this is one of my Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Poppy. I have another called Milo and we love to go trail running together.
Having left my previous job in sales I decided to pursue a career change to work with animals and I haven’t looked back since! I can honestly say, right now I have my dream career! Being able to teach at the academy and share my passion with other people whilst also working from home part time with my dog grooming business, Vanity Fur. I’m currently studying for my L3 Education and Training Certificate and have attended all the relevant OCN London moderation workshops to fully understand what our students need to cover during their time with us. I’ll be there throughout the whole process and will help you every step of the way. I’m sure you will love grooming as much as I do!

I’m Sarah and this is Jasmine and I also own a Springer called Dexter.
Since setting up my own dog grooming business, I was delighted to join the team to help train fellow dog lovers and assist any left-handed students we have come through the academy doors. I love working with the new students seeing them progress each week and their confidence grow. I am currently studying for a diploma in canine behaviour with the British College of Canine Studies and for my Level 3 Education and Training certificate.
