Meet the SCDGA Team
If dogs could choose their groomer they would choose you every time because you have trained at South Coast Dog Grooming Academy and they will know they are in safe hands. Your training will install the value of love, care, compassion and attention to detail.

My role as Head Trainer is to ensure this course is all about you. My goal was to create a course for dog lovers whose ambition was to never leave their dog! At SCDGA we have a proven track record of ensuring all student’s dreams become a reality and all the team here are your cheerleaders from day one.

After completing my A-levels and a Retail Management Degree at Bournemouth University, my love for my King Charles Cavaliers took me on a very different muddy track into the world of dog grooming! I completed my dog grooming training at Kingston Maurward Agricultural College and attended numerous creative seminars and dog grooming workshops in Essex, with my dream in mind to one day open my very own salon. Which in 2016, I did! I opened Canine Design in East Preston and it just went from strength to strength. I soon realised I wanted to start to offer in house training so I could pass on my passion and knowledge to other dog lovers, who like me wanted to work with dogs.

I went on to study and complete my Level 3 in Education & Training certificate. Then I went onto complete The Fundamentals of Education, LGBTQ & Awareness training & Understanding Anxiety. This has given me the confidence to train all students from all backgrounds. I know I have the knowledge and the skills to get the best out of every student so that they complete the course to the best of their ability.

I cannot promise you rosettes after this course, but you will learn the value of winning the hearts and minds for your customers both dogs and humans. You will come out being a safe, gentle, and skilled dog groomer with a good understanding of what will make you a successful business owner in this rewarding industry!

Business Development Manager
I’m Hannah and this is Kobe my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. He comes to work with me most days and is my little shadow. I’m the Business Development Manager here at SCDGA and I’m normally the first one you will hear from once you contact us.

Working here is literally my dream job (and I’m not just saying that). I love being able to work with dogs and still work in sales and marketing. My favourite part of marketing is social media and I am always here for students to give any advice they may need when it comes to marketing their business. One of the greatest parts about working here is helping people get a better work/life balance and unlike other colleges, this is a business course in dog grooming so, all students come away with good knowledge of how to market their brand and a business plan.

Before I started working here, I was a hairdresser, dabbled in graphic design/visual merchandising and worked as a Sales Coordinator for a beauty equipment manufacturer. Outside of work I’m a real country girl and you can usually find me trudging around the South Downs on a dog walk with Kobe or in a country pub with friends and family.

Hi my name’s Hannah and I work as a trainer at the academy with Sarah and the team.

Having left my previous job in sales I decided to pursue a career change to work with animals, more specifically dogs and I haven’t looked back since! I can honestly say, right now I have my dream career! Working from home part time as a dog groomer and also being able to teach at the academy - sharing my passion with other people! I’m currently studying for my L3 Education and Training Certificate and have attended all the relevant OCN London moderation workshops to fully understand what our students need to cover during their time with us. I’ll be there throughout the whole process and will help you every step of the way. I’m sure you will love grooming as much as I do!

When I am not dog grooming, I am spending time with my best friends Poppy and Milo my Staffordshire Bull Terriers. We love to go trail running together.

I’m Sarah and this is Jasmine. Since setting up my own dog grooming business, I was delighted to join the team to help train fellow dog lovers and assist any left-handed students we have come through the academy doors. I love working with the new students seeing them progress each week and their confidence grow. I am currently studying for a diploma in canine behaviour with the British College of Canine Studies and for my Level 3 Education and Training certificate.

I’m Emma and this is our 7-year-old family cockapoo Hamilton.
I recently successfully passed the OCN Professional Dog Grooming Course at the Academy and have now started my dream first job working as the Academy Aid, this has given me the perfect opportunity of continuing to work with our furry friends and sharing my newfound knowledge with fellow animal lovers.

Away from the Academy and playing with Hamilton you’ll find me on the golf course attempting to play golf or watching motor sport with my Dad.
Look forward to meeting all you budding dog groomers!
